Soon after I made a post about how I use a Philips shaver for shaving my head, it stopped working. The warranty was 2 years but I had to ship it to them on my own expenses. Since the shaver itself costs 30$ and the shipping costs like 5$, I was thinking if it is worth the effort. Then I called the customer service and the customer care representative promptly took my shipping address and told me that they email me a prepaid shipping slip and that they will send a new unit once I sent them the old one. I was already happy by this time that I don't have to spend any money to get it fixed. Since I was lil busy with other things I didn't immediately send the old shaver. But 2-3 days later it seems Philips already dispatched a replacement unit which I received today and also I sent the old one today. I feel really happy when companies take care of their customers like this. It shows them that they care and also gets them free marketing like the one I am doing now with this post (Win-Win) |

Grand central is a service that tries to give one-phone-number-for-life. I signed up only today and I love the features it provides. This is how it works: - Basically GC will give you a phone number (Actually you can chose from available numbers).
- You only give out the GC phone number to people.
- You can keep adding / deleting your other phone numbers to your GC account.
- In your GC account, you can select which calls should be routed where.
- The service also tries to save you from the telemarketers by blocking the known SPAM callers etc.
- Other good things include unlimited voicemail box, etc
GC was acquired by Google and the service is still in BETA. So you would need a invite to try it. If you have a Google blogger account you can get a GC account. If you don't have a Google blogger account but still want to tryout GC service, leave a comment with your mail id and I can send you a invite. |

Saw this movie recently. Its about a man(John Merrick) with some kind of physical deformation that makes him look like a elephant (partially atleast) and how the society treats him at that time. The Story is not fiction and his bodily deformation was not just a muscle went wrong, his bones including the skull were deformed as well. Its some rare kind of disease. After John merrick's death his skeleton are preserved for studies. Here is a link to the skull picture. Also I am making this post from Windows live writer - some softwares in the windows live suite are neat - the photo gallery, writer etc.

Really funny FAQ. the website is good source for deals pretty useful guide I loved the Eclipse IDE for java development. I was pretty delighted that they had a IDE customized for C/C++. On windows it can work with cygwin but for some reason takes a lot of time in indexing the source code But on ubuntu its really neat. If you like driving in scenic roads, check out this website before going on your next road trip. It gives info on the roads designated as scenic in all the states in the US. I hope to cover most of them :) If you are still using Windows XP and have been using it long enough to get tired of the look and just want to get a new look for your desktop, try this vista transformation pack. The good part of this is that it doesn't hurt the performance that much. Nice replacement for the date and time display.
